Band Leader & Founder

Music Experience:   54 Years 

George played in two other bands, in 1960 and 1962, then started The George Winter Band in 1963.  He established the Tuscaloosa Ballroom Dance Club, Tuscaloosa, Alabama in May of 1991.  Married Shirley Winter in December, 1989.  George is a trained Ballroom dancer. He started his intense Ballroom dance training in Tuscaloosa at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in 1988.   He can assure his dancers that every song his band and orchestra plays is the right speed and rhythm.  George is also an expert with electronics.  He operated Winter Electronics Company, electronic organ and keyboard service, starting from 1962.

Nine years as Band Director Luverne Alabama. Twenty years as Band Director Hale County High School in Moundville Alabama. Married twenty-six years, one son, Robert.
